Authorities ID Driver Killed In Redondo Beach Pileup

Several people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Authorities identified Tuesday an elderly driver who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Redondo Beach that left several other people injured.

The collision was reported about 2:50 p.m. last Wednesday at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Torrance Boulevard.

The fatally injured motorist, identified by the coroner's office as Woodrum Woolwine Jr., 72, was westbound on Torrance Boulevard when he went through a red light and his car collided with several northbound and southbound vehicles, according to Redondo Beach police Lt. Shawn Freeman.
