REDONDO BEACH, CA – The body of a Redondo Beach man who went missing April 29 while on vacation was found Saturday night in Cattaraugus County, New York, according to WGRZ. Rudy Ray Rockett Sr., 64, was found off of Traffic Street in East Otto by Cattaraugus and Erie County Sheriff K9’s, the news station reported. Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour tweeted that a body had been found in East Otto Sunday, but didn't identify the body.
Rudy Ray Rockett Jr. told the Niagara Gazette that he'd been informed of the discovery of the body Sunday by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. The body was found in an area where search teams had been looking for Rocket Sr. since his April disappearance, Voutour told the Gazette.
Rockett Sr. failed to show up to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport for an evening flight to Los Angeles on April 29, and his wife reported him missing a short time later, the newspaper reported. Rockett Sr.'s stepson, Gregory Roy, was charged with weapons possession April 30, although it's unknown if that's related to this incident, according to WGRZ.
