Buying A New Car? Head To Redondo Beach: Study

A new study reveals the cheapest places in California to buy a new car – Redondo Beach made the list in a surprising way.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Redondo Beach is the third-cheapest place to buy a car in California, according to the automotive buyer intelligence firm Autolist.com. Those who buy cars in Redondo Beach will save an average of $877 on a comparable vehicle purchased elsewhere in California. The California Affordability Rankings study analyzed over 81 million vehicles and 4.6 billion unique data points across vehicles nationwide.

Nationally, California is ranked #23 out of 50 states, according to Autolist data. The top five most affordable cities in California are:

  1. Aliso Viejo – $1,160 below than the California average
  2. Lake Forrest – $892 below than the California average
  3. Redondo Beach – $877 below than the California average
  4. Inglewood – $875 below than the California average
  5. Mission Viejo – $848 below than the California average

The study also researched specific models. In Redondo Beach, data shows that the Lexus GS 350 is the most discounted model with prices $1,938 below California's average.

The top five highest discounted cars to purchase in Redondo Beach are:

  1. Lexus GS 350
  2. Lexus RX 350
  3. Lexus GX 460
  4. Ram Ram Pickup 1500
  5. Lexus CT 200h

These cars show an average savings between $1,886 and $1,556 off average prices in California. State-wide, there are also vehicles that sold for far below the national price – averaging between $1,659 and $1,157 in savings compared to the national average.
