The City of Torrance will conduct a briefing regarding the recent ExxonMobil Refinery Explosion on Tuesday, February 24 at the beginning of the regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

Staff will present a review of the incident based on the most current information available from ExxonMobil, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) better known as Cal/OHSA, South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), and City operations

The briefing will also include a review of the City’s response and activities during and after the explosion; a status report of the refinery as of Tuesday; a review of the ongoing efforts to focus on continuous improvement to the response, notification and action plan in emergency situations.

Torrance City Council meetings are held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall located at 3031 Torrance Boulevard.

If you are unable to attend, meetings can be viewed live on CitiCABLE channel 3 (Time Warner), channel 31 (Verizon FiOS), and over-the-air broadcast KNET 25.2.
