DUI Checkpoints Cinco De Mayo Weekend In Redondo Beach
Margaritas and tequila will be flowing at Cinco De Mayo parties, but you need to plan a safe and sober ride home, Redondo Beach police said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – In the United States, Cinco de Mayo means margaritas, tequila, and parties. If you're going to partake in any alcohol-related festivities, you need to have a sober ride home, the Redondo Beach Police Department said. Police, Sheriff and the CHP will be out in force looking for the tail-tell sign of impaired driving this holiday weekend. RBPD will deploy additional officers on special DUI Saturation Patrols specifically to stop and arrest drivers showing signs of alcohol or drug impairment during the hours of 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. in areas with history of DUI of DUI crashes and DUI arrests.
While some may think they can play it by ear and wait until after the party has started to decide whether they’re “okay to drive,” by this point, it’s too late, according to the RBPD. Going out for a night of drinking without a plan for getting home safely is a recipe for disaster, the police department said.
There will also be DUI Checkpoints around the South Bay for Cinco de Mayo weekend, including in Manhattan Beach.
