DUI/Driver License Checkpoint Coming Up In South Bay
The checkpoints are placed in locations based on crash statistics and frequency of DUI arrests, according to LASD.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver License Checkpoint on Friday, Feb. 8 at an undisclosed location in Lawndale between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.
DUI Checkpoints are placed in locations based on crash statistics and frequency of DUI arrests, the LASD press release said. Deputies will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and checking drivers for proper licensing.
“DUI doesn’t just mean booze," LASD said. Prescription drugs and marijuana can leave drivers impaired enough to get a DUI, the press release said.
