US Coast Guard Water Rescue Drills at Torrance Beach

A Coastie will be in the ocean pretending to be distressed in the water. Come to Torrance Beach to see the whole exercise of the helicopter, lowering the rescue diver, safely pulling up the distressvictim, and pulling up the rescue diver from the 68 degree water. There is metered street parking and a fee for public parking in the lot.  You must park on the hill above           the beach and walk down steps or a ramp to get to the beach.  Senior citizens can watch from the parking lot.  Bring chairs and your binoculars.
