Graffiti Threatens Slaughter at Redondo Union High School
The school is not on lockdown. At the same time, a threat has prompted the closure of a Manhattan Beach school.

Threatening graffiti at Redondo Union High School has students, teachers and police on edge today.
Redondo Beach Police Department were notified in the early morning hours of a graffiti threat reading “YOU ARE ALL [expletive] ANIMALS BEING LED TO THE SLAUGTHER [sic] AS YOU DESERVE.” No specific threats were emailed or telephoned to Redondo Union High School, according to police.
The graffiti was located on a sidewalk near the school cafeteria area spray painted in red.

Despite the threat, earlier reports that the school was placed on lockdown are not true. However, an increased police presence was initiated at the school because of the graffiti, said Redondo Beach Police Sgt. Shawn Freeman.
School District officials have been notified of the graffiti and parents of students have been made aware of the graffiti by Redondo Union School District officials, he said.

Authorities do not know if threat is linked to a series of threats that prompted the closure of Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach today and earlier this week.
Redondo Beach Police have contacted Manhattan Beach Police Department to ascertain if the two incidents are related, Freeman said in a written release.
