High School Football: Redondo Union 14, West 34

"There were too many mental mistakes and costly penalties on our part," says Coach Matt Ballard.

By Matt Ballard, Head Coach of Redondo Union High School’s football team.

RU 14 – West 34

The Sea Hawks struggled in all three facets of the game last night vs West Torrance. Of the 15 team goals we want to accomplish every game (5 Offense, 5 Defense and 5 Special Teams) we only achieved four total. Credit does have to be given to the Warriors, who played hard and earned the win, however, there were too many mental mistakes and costly penalties on our part. As a team, we have to be more disciplined, period.

Next week we travel to Mission Viejo to face another tough opponent. This will be our last pre-season game, and opportunity to get ready for a challenging Bay League season. Although we are 1-3, the reality is that all our season goals are still in front of us, and we still have the opportunity to earn post season play.
