Kings Announce Details of Signature Events for Foundation

The LA Kings Beach Cities 5K/10K & Annual Charity Golf Tournament are coming up in September and October.

From the LA Kings: The Kings Care Foundation today announced details on two signature events, coming in September and October. The LA Kings Beach Cities 5K/10K benefiting the Hydrocephalus Association, and the annual LA Kings Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“These are two great events that are interactive and impactful and both are a favorite of our players. The 5K/10K event brings together our entire LA Kings community to support an amazing cause in the Hydrocephalus Association and our annual charity golf tournament is always one of our largest fundraisers each year. Both events will serve as fun, interactive ways to make a difference in our community and help us commemorate the launch of the 2017-18 season,” said Kings President Luc Robitaille.

The LA Kings Beach Cities 5K/10K, takes place at the Riviera Village in Redondo Beach on the morning of Saturday, September, 9. The event features many of the Kings players who participate in the 5K walk and also features a 10K that travels all the way through Hermosa Beach (course certifications are pending). The event is hosted by Kings Alumni and Radio Analyst, Daryl Evans. The schedule of events is below:

The LA Kings relationship with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Department of Pathology’s Transfusion Medicine Program (Blood Bank) has directly resulted in improvements to quality, safety, and the number of blood products obtained over the past 5 years. As a result, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ blood bank is 94% self-sufficient, higher than any other children's hospital in the United States.

In January 2014, the LA Kings renewed its commitment to the hospital through a five-year, $1,000,000 donation to fund research related to the impact of blood transfusions on children’s genes as well as research on Brain Tumors, Hydrocephalus and Functional Neurosurgery.
