It's official – a unanimous decision was reached in declaring the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games locations. Paris, France will host the Olympics in 2024, and Los Angeles will host the 2028 Games.

In other news, Orange County firefighters rescued adorable twin kittens from a car engine. The kittens were found underneath a car hood by a car wash worker, and are now being bottle fed by the Orange County Fire Authority firefighters.

Authorities are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the fatal beating of an 85-year-old Korean War veteran in Carson. The vet was attacked and robbed back in May, and died a week later in the hospital.

However, homicides in Los Angeles have declined this summer compared to previous summers. While 59 homicides over the three month period isn't ideal, it was the fewest number of killings in a single summer since 1966. It's a "pretty significant accomplishment for this city to have a summer that was that safe," a police official said.

In celebrity news, Jessica Biel's West Hollywood restaurant is being sued by employees. The employees allege they are owed tip money as well as money for overtime and missed meal and rest breaks. The plaintiffs, who include a host, a server, a food runner, a barista and a bartender, were among the first hired at the restaurant, according to the suit.
