Man Killed in Redondo Beach Crash: UPDATE

The crash occurred at the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Aviation Way

REDONDO BEACH, CA - A motorist in Redondo Beach was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash, police said.

The crash occurred at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Aviation Way, according to Redondo Beach police Lt. Joe Hoffman, and involved an Audi and an Acura.

"Information from witnesses to the collision indicate that the two vehicles collided in the intersection forcing one of the vehicles into a traffic signal pole. The driver of that vehicle was ejected," said Redondo Beach police Traffic Investigator William Turner.

Paramedics rushed that motorist to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, Hoffman said. The other motorist escaped uninjured.

It was not immediately known whether the Audi or Acura hit the traffic signal pole.
