REDONDO BEACH, CA – On Monday evening at 7:35 p.m., a man was stabbed while he was seated on a Beach Cities Transit Bus, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department. The bus had stopped near the intersection of Kingsdale Avenue and Artesia Boulevard in Redondo Beach when, for unknown reasons, another passenger on the bus stabbed the victim several times and fled, police said.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene, and then transported him to a local area hospital where he underwent surgery for several stab wounds to his upper torso, according to RBPD. The victim is in stable condition and recovering in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit; his name and city of residence are not being released at this time, police said.
Although the suspect fled the scene of the crime, he was located approximately 45 minutes later.
