Pedestrian Injured In South Bay Crash

The victim was injured but conscious and taken to a hospital, police said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – A pedestrian was hit by a car in Torrance Wednesday evening and hospitalized.

The crash occurred about 9:15 p.m. on Crenshaw Boulevard near Del Amo Boulevard, according to Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department.

The victim was conscious and taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, Harris said.

The gender of the victim was not disclosed.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard between Del Amo Boulevard and Maricopa Street for nearly 30 minutes. The lanes were reopened about 9:40 p.m., police said.
