REDONDO BEACH, CA – Authorities identified a bicyclist Tuesday who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle in Torrance, and police are still searching for the driver.
Jonathan Valbuena, 32, who was homeless, was struck about 4:45 a.m. Monday at Hawthorne Boulevard and 227th Street and died at the scene, according to the coroner's office and the Torrance Police Department.
The hit-and-run vehicle might have been a tan or light gold 2006-09 Toyota 4-Runner SUV that was seen on security video from a nearby residence, said Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris.
