Redondo Beach Man Goes Missing While Vacationing In New York

The man's stepson is in custody on a weapons charge, according to reports.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – A Redondo Beach man went missing while at his vacation home in Buffalo, New York. Now, his stepson is in custody, according to ABC7. Rudy Ray Rockett, 64, was last seen on Sunday. Rockett is described as a white male, 6'1" tall, and weighs about 255 pounds, according to WGRZ, and he is balding.

While the search for Rockett continues, his stepson Gregory Roy is in custody on a weapons charge, the news station reported. Roy is currently being held on $150,000 bail, Sheriff James Voutour told WGRZ. Roy was supposed to drive Rockett to the airport, but Rockett never showed up to make his flight, Rockett's family told ABC7. Blood was later found in the car Roy was driving, as well as the vacation home where Rockett and his wife were staying, the news station reported.

The family told ABC7 that ominous notes written by the stepson were also found in the house.
