From Redondo Union head football coach Matt Ballard:
It was a tough ending for the Sea Hawks last night. With less than 2 minutes in the game, an RU field goal gave us a three point lead. However, the Saxons followed by returning the kickoff for a TD; winning 13 to 10. It’s a sting that will not go away soon. Overall, we played well, however, as we often discuss, it’s the little things that can determine the outcome.
It truly is “character inventory time” for the Sea Hawks. We face possibly the toughest team on our schedule, the 7th State ranked Upland Scots. How we respond this week in practice andFriday night will determine the kind of team we want to be. We have faith that our young men will take a look in the mirror, learn from their mistakes, and bounce back with pride and heart. From great challenges come great opportunities, and we have a great opportunity to show the tremendous football we have in us!
