REDONDO BEACH, CA – A man confessed to murdering a woman Friday who was found naked and unresponsive in a gutter in front of a motorhome in an unincorporated area between Compton and Gardena Thursday night. The man, who lives in the motorhome next to where the body was found, claims the woman was a prostitute, and is now being booked on suspicion of murder, police told CBS. He was last seen by a witness dragging the woman's body to that location, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The woman's death was reported at 9:17 p.m. Thursday in the 14300 block of South Main Street, just south of Rosecrans Avenue, said Deputy Trina Schrader. She was discovered by another woman walking on the sidewalk.

The victim was lying face down in the gutter, naked and unresponsive, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was in front of a motorhome parked along the curb. Deputies contacted the occupant of the motorhome, a 55-year-old man, and were able to determine that the victim had been with him prior to her body being discovered, Schrader said.

Authorities also determined the man had placed her there, according to Schrader.
