Seen This Car? Man Driving It Committed Lewd Act, Police Said

'When the victim turned back to the suspect, she observed his hand in his pants moving up and down in rapid motion.' police said.

TORRANCE, CA - Torrance police on Thursday sought public help to find a man who drove up to a woman and made lewd gestures.

It happened about 5 p.m. June 7 on 166th Street near Kristin Avenue, the Torrance Police Department said.

"The 59-year-old female victim was walking westbound on 166th Street ... on the north sidewalk when the suspect vehicle pulled up next to her and (he) asked for directions to the 405 Freeway," a police statement said.

"The victim gave the suspect directions while turning away," police said. "When the victim turned back to the suspect, she observed his hand in his pants moving up and down in rapid motion. When the suspect realized the victim had observed his actions, he quickly fled westbound on 166th Street and out of sight."

The man was described as white, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build. He was clean shaven and wore a green military style jacket. He was driving a silver four-door Honda Civic, with minor damage to the front passenger-side fender, bumper and door.
