One Injured In Officer-Involved Shooting In Redondo Beach

Redondo Beach police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of the Esplanade.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred near Avenue C and Esplanade in Redondo Beach Tuesday night.

At about 9:07 p.m. Tuesday, the Redondo Beach Police Department responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of the Esplanade, the RBPD press release said.

“As officers approached the location, they were confronted by an armed suspect and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” police said.

The suspect was treated at the scene for multiple injuries and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of the suspect’s injuries are currently unknown, police said. No one else was injured during the incident.

Authorities needed to clear out a residential home after the shooting, KCAL9 reported.

Redondo Beach police requested the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to be the primary investigating agency for this incident, the press release said.
