SoCalGas Pipeline Work Starts, Expect Traffic Delays in Redondo Beach, South Bay

Traffic on 190th Street is expected to be slow in the construction area, with occasional lane closures expected.

TORRANCE, CA — Motorists in Torrance, Gardena and northern Redondo Beach could run into some slower-than-usual traffic along stretches of 190th Street over the next three to four months due to a Southern California Gas Co. pipeline project set to begin Monday.

Crews will be testing and making enhancements to an underground pipe along 190th Street between Crenshaw Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. To access the line, crews will begin excavating around 8:30 a.m. Monday on 190th at Crenshaw, with the work moving eastward over the next 12 to 15 weeks, according to SoCalGas.

Traffic on 190th Street is expected to be slow in the construction area, with occasional lane closures expected. Message boards and traffic-control signs will be posted.

The work will be done between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
