South Bay Hosts Needed To House International Students
Teens from Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain are in need of a host family.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Education First Language Travel is searching for hosts within the South Bay to house 36 international students arriving July 6 to study in the English Immersion Program. This summer, the program will be running a summer language camp with two sessions in Redondo Beach: the first session is from July 6 to August 1, and the second session is August 2 to August 21.
Education First will be running three private bus lines with ten stops total, including the school, around the South Bay. Host Families will only be responsible for getting their students to their local bus stop in the morning, and picking them up from the bus stop in the evening.
Students will have classes and activities Monday through Friday from 8:40 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. The bus will be picking up students between 7 and 8 a.m. and dropping them off between 6 and 6:30 p.m., depending on the bus stop. If the stop is walkable, then students can walk to and from the stop from the host's home.

All three meals should be provided with this program. Examples include:
- A self-service breakfast like toast, cereal, oatmeal, etc.
- A brown bag lunch: sandwich with chips or fruit, etc. and a drink
- Dinner with family: whatever the host family is making, ensure enough is made for the student to be included.
Currently, the program has many girls ages 14-17 from Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain who need homes.

These students travel in groups with a group leader (an Education First staff member from their country) who acts as their responsible party. In the event of any emergency, this group leader will be the one to respond and serve as their guardian, never the host family.
The program provides host families with a tax-free stipend of $110 per week to offset food expenses. The first session is for 26 nights – check-in is July 6 and check-out August 1. The second session is 19 nights – check-in is August 2 and check-out is August 21.
For those interested, a 30 to 45-minute home visit appointment can be scheduled next week. Call (213) 298-1930 with any questions or to schedule a home visit.
