South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide April 12, 2018
The South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide offers comprehensive coverage of the greater South Bay area.

If any of you listened to The South Bay Show podcast last Friday, you’ve heard about my recent tech challenges. My husband purchased a new TV a couple of weeks ago along with a new receiver and we now have five different remote controls. While my husband is a wiz at setting up electronics, he hasn’t had time to combine all the functions into one remote. So I haven’t been able to figure out how to turn on the TV, watch a DVD or listen to the stereo or a CD in two weeks. (Yes, I still enjoy listening to CDs.) I can go quite a while without TV, but I always have music playing - at home, in the office, in the car, at the beach, on walks, and bike rides. So I’ve been making due with syncing my phone to the Beats Pill. It works well enough….until the phone rings, which it does all day. First world struggles, my friends, first world struggles.

The students captured the images through dSLR cameras on manual focus. The curious and explorative nature of the students evolved the program to include painting, pasting, scribbling, scrubbing, glueing, and burning, and everything in between, to create fantastic imaginationscapes through the eye of their lenses. Guests visiting Rock & Brews locations in El Segundo & Redondo Beach during the month of April will receive a “text to win” code entering them to win one of four Kona surfboards. In 2014, the North American Brewers Association awarded Kona Brewery with a gold medal in the Light Ale category.
