South Bay School District Trustee Convicted of Sexual Assault

Skyy De'Anthony Fisher, a trustee of the Compton Unified School District, was found guilty of sexually assaulting an unconscious student.

A Compton Unified School District trustee was convicted Thursday of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old college student as the victim slept in their shared downtown San Diego hotel room.

After less than an hour of deliberations, a jury found 32-year-old Skyy De’Anthony Fisher guilty of oral copulation on an unconscious person.

The defendant, who was out of custody on bail, was immediately taken back to jail pending a Feb. 29 sentencing hearing.

The victim was asleep in his own bed the morning of April 5, 2014, when he felt a “weird sensation” and saw the defendant committing a sex act on him, the prosecutor said.

“He (Steven) wasn’t sure what to do,” Fox told the jury. “He just wanted to get out of there.”

After the sexual encounter, Steven went downstairs and got in his car and Fisher followed, but Steven ordered him to get out, the prosecutor said.

“He (Steven) was scared. He was angry,” Fox told the jury.

The prosecutor said Steven drove off, called 911, and went for a sexual assault exam after talking to police.

Steven later made a pretext call to Fisher in which the defendant apologized for what happened, Fox said.

“He (Fisher) said, ‘I’m sorry. I wish I could take it back,”‘ according to the prosecutor.

Steven, now 27, testified that he met Fisher on Facebook and developed a friendship with the defendant because he was interested in working for the school district.

He testified that he and Fisher met a few times at a bar near a college campus, and that he considered the defendant to be a mentor.

During spring break 2014, Steven said he told Fisher that he wanted to get away and the defendant volunteered to go with him to San Diego because he knew the area.

Steven testified that he and Fisher met up with two of the defendant’s friends in the Gaslamp District and went to a couple of bars, where they danced with women.

As the evening concluded, Steven said he stopped at a convenience store to buy some condoms because he anticipated calling a prostitute for sex.

About 4 a.m., Steven said he was having sex with a female prostitute when Fisher got up out of bed, but Steven said he pushed him away.

Once the prostitute left the hotel room, Steven said he smoked a “joint” and fell asleep. Sometime later, he said he awoke to Fisher committing a sex act on him.

Steven he grabbed his belongings and left the room after Fisher jumped back in his own bed.
