South Bay Weekend Guide April 21, 2016

The South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide offers comprehensive coverage of the greater South Bay area.

South Bay by Jackie.com will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this summer. For those who have been following the website and receiving this Weekend Guide every Thursday, you’ve seen the many changes and improvements we’ve made over the years in our mission to create the most comprehensive event calendar in the South Bay. Over the next few months, we’ll be hitting the refresh button to improve your experience even further. We’ve just launched a new page on the website called ‘So Bae’. It came to my attention a while ago that there is no comprehensive website for activities geared toward tweens, teens and young adults in our area. This page contains links to the different resources and events specifically designed for the under 21 age group and will highlight a different activity each week. Take a peek at the new page here http://www.southbaybyjackie.com/so-bae-events.php. It’s a work in progress and if you know of any other links we should add, please forward them to my attention.

I just heard that Cookin’ Stuff will be closing its doors on June 30. This local business has been serving the cooking needs of the South Bay since 1973 and will be sorely missed. My kitchen is loaded with items from there. Late last year, I needed something to place between the burner and a stovetop espresso maker…. I didn’t even know what it was called. I walked in the store, explained what I was looking for and they showed me three different models. I can’t remember a time when they didn’t have what I needed. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, the service was always terrific and the prices were more than reasonable. If you need any kitchen supplies, you should stock up now. Cookin’ Stuff is located at 2722 Sepulveda Boulevard, Torrance CA 90505.
