Suspect Barricaded In South Bay Home, Triggering Street Closures And School Lockdowns.

TORRANCE, CA — A felony suspect was barricaded inside a Torrance home Thursday, prompting a standoff with police that led to street closures and school lockdowns.
The standoff began for unknown reasons early Thursday afternoon on the south side of Torrance Boulevard near Earl Street, just south of Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center.
No information was immediately available about the suspect. Police established a perimeter around the home and a SWAT team was called to the scene, along with at least two armored vehicles..
