Victim of San Bernardino Terrorist Attack Awarded Posthumous Degree from South Bay College
Aurora Godoy, the youngest of 14 people killed in the mass shooting, was two classes shy of earning her degree at the time of her death.

WILMINGTON, CA - Los Angeles Harbor College posthumously awarded an associate's degree Wednesday to Aurora Godoy, the youngest of 14 people killed in the mass shooting carried out by a pair of home-grown terrorists at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.
Godoy, 26, of San Jacinto, worked as an office assistant at the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health for about a year, and she was attending a Dec. 2 holiday office party at the center when co-worker Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, walked in and opened fire in what federal authorities called an act of terror.
Godoy was about two classes shy of earning her degree at the time of her death. She and her husband, James, were high school sweethearts and had been married for about three years. They had a 2-year-old son.

James Godoy and son Alexander, attended the Harbor College 6 p.m. ceremony to accept the degree on her behalf. The college awarded Godoy an associate degree in liberal arts and sciences.
