Woman Killed While Crossing Torrance Street

She was inside the crosswalk when she was hit by a car that had a green light, police said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – A pedestrian was killed when she was hit by a car crossing a Torrance street, authorities said Monday. The woman was hit at 6:24 p.m. Sunday on Anza Avenue at Spenser Street, Torrance police Lt. Charles Fisher said.

The woman was inside a crosswalk eastbound across Anza Avenue when she was hit by a car that had the green light, Fisher said. The driver stopped, cooperated with police and was not impaired by drugs or alcohol, according to police.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
