The complaints came from nearby business owners regarding illegal activity allegedly occurring at the spa, police said. At 5:45 p.m., an undercover officer entered the spa and discovered the business had an elaborate early warning system to alert employees of a police presence, police said.

When detectives entered the business, Leong allegedly activated a hand-held remote control that enabled her to signal employees about the arrival of officers, police said.

Detectives searched the business and located condoms and other contraband associated with prostitution activity, police said.

A second suspect, later identified as Zhou, was arrested during the operation, police said.
