2 Men Arrested For $4k Retail Theft In SMC: Police

The suspects grabbed multiple clothing items and quickly fled the scene without paying, police said.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Officers arrested two San Jose men Tuesday suspected of stealing over $4,000 worth of merchandise from a Redwood City store in late January, police said.

On Jan. 29, two people entered the Cycle Gear store at 2426 El Camino Real, police said. The suspects grabbed multiple clothing items and quickly fled the scene without paying, driving away in a red Subaru Impreza, police said. A store employee managed to capture an image of the getaway vehicle, including its license plate.

On Tuesday, the vehicle was spotted around 12:17 p.m. on the 1900 block of El Camino Real. Police pulled over the car and three individuals were found inside: two men and one woman.

Following an investigation, officers said they positively identified two of the occupants as the suspects from the Jan. 29 theft.

Cristian Alexis SilvaGarcia, 33, and Josiah Alexander Delamora, 26, both of San Jose, were arrested on charges of grand theft and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility, police said.
