2 Peninsula Women Spearhead Sun-Protection Drive For Refugees
Thousands will be standing in the sun for hours in Greece this summer waiting for food and supplies, organizers said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA -- Two Bay Area residents are aiming to put together more than 500 kits this month to protect refugees from the sun this summer in Greece.
Natalie Feulner of San Mateo and Lily Kimbel of Mountain View began their effort called SunSafe when they realized thousands of children will be standing in the sun for hours this summer waiting for food and supplies.
The two residents co-founded a group called Allied Aid, which they organized to raise money for the kits and for a van to distribute the kits. Each kit costs about $8 to make.

Feulner and Kimbel want to start distributing the kits July 1. Each kit will have sunscreen, a sunhat, sun safety information written in both Dari and Arabic and flip-flops.
