2 People Shot In SMC Hospitalized With Critical Injuries: Police

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident between people known to each other.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two people are recovering after a shooting in Redwood City on Wednesday morning that police are still investigating.

The Redwood City Police Department issued an alert Wednesday morning stating they were investigating a report of a gunshot victim near the intersection of McGarvey Avenue and Farm Hill Boulevard.

While officers and emergency medical personnel were en route to the first scene, a second call was received reporting another person with gunshot wounds on the 3000 block of Hastings Avenue.

First responders said they quickly determined that both victims were involved in a single incident that occurred inside a residence on Hastings Avenue. Officers searched the residence and confirmed there were no other victims.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals with critical injuries but are currently expected to survive, police said.

RCPD detectives have taken over the investigation.

The shooting was an isolated incident involving individuals who were known to one another, and police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
