3 Teens Arrested for Vandalism at Redwood City School

The teens were arrested on suspicion of arson & vandalism after detectives and school officials identified them on security camera footage.

Three teens were arrested this week in connection with arson and vandalism incidents at a Redwood City school.

The suspects, who have not been identified because of their ages, are 14, 15 and 16 years old, police said.

Redwood City police and firefighters responded Sunday at 8:20 p.m. to the Taft Community School at 903 10th Ave. to a report of a fire and found an active foliage fire burning on the fence along the west side of the school.

Firefighters put out the fire, and police, during the ensuing investigation, located graffiti painted on several locations throughout the school and discovered several areas of the building that had been burned.

The teens were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of arson and vandalism after detectives and school officials identified them on security camera footage, police said.

Investigators were also able to determine the three were involved in a July 29 vandalism incident at the school, police said.
