4 Arrests, 12 Citations At DUI Checkpoint In SMC: Police
In total, 886 vehicles were screened during the DUI checkpoint.
MILLBRAE, CA — A recent DUI checkpoint conducted by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend in Millbrae resulted in several arrests for driving under the influence and various other violations.
The checkpoint took place between 6 p.m. on Friday and 1 a.m. on Saturday in the 100 block of El Camino Real. In total, 886 vehicles were screened during the operation.
The Sheriff's Office reported the following outcomes from the checkpoint:

- Three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
- One person was arrested on a felony warrant.
- One person was cited and released for possession of narcotics and related paraphernalia.
- 15 Field Sobriety Tests were conducted.
- Seven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed.
- Four drivers were cited for not having their license in possession.
- Four vehicles were stored or impounded.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the serious financial consequences of a DUI conviction, noting that a first-time offense averages $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended license.
