Afternoon Ecology at the Marine Science Institute
MSI's after school program teaches students how to be a scientist, using real scientific equipment and live marine animal interactions.
Registration is now OPEN for Afternoon Ecology Spring 2015
The Marine Science Institute is a celebrated environmental education provider that emphasizes experiential learning and puts learners in contact with nature. The Afternoon Ecology program is designed to enrich your student’s science education as a supplement to learning at traditional or non-traditional schools and home learning.
During the Spring session, students will explore the tools and methods that marine scientist use in the field to gather information and conduct surveys. Each day, students will learn how to catch animals, take data, care for the animals in our aquarium, and even dissect a squid! Students will gain confidence in using scientific equipment, working within a group, and learn information about the animals that they catch.
- The course spans 6 classes and will run on Mondays from April 6 - May 11.
- Classes are held from 3:30-5:00pm for students ages 6-11.
