SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A former educator and soccer coach who worked at a now-closed North Fair Oaks charter school pleaded no contest Wednesday to child sex crimes involving two student victims, the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office said.
Anthony G. Gutierrez-Molina, 32, of Palo Alto, entered no contest pleas to three felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and two felony counts of oral copulation with a minor, prosecutors said. Nine additional counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and four counts of oral copulation were dismissed as part of a negotiated plea, officials said.
He faces up to two years and eight months in state prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for Sept. 8. He remains out of custody on a $500,000 bail bond.
Gutierrez-Molina worked as a coordinator and program manager at Summit Everest, a public charter high school in North Fair Oaks that closed in 2025.
Prosecutors said he became close with a 16-year-old girl in the program and maintained a sexual relationship with her from March 2023 through November 2024.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office launched its investigation in January 2026 after the first victim came forward. Detectives later identified a second victim who was also a minor at the time. That relationship ended when the second victim graduated high school and left for college, prosecutors said.
Investigators believe there may be additional unidentified victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Temo Gonzalez at cgonzalez4@smcgov.org or 650-363-4544. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-547-2700.
