Auto Burglary Suspect Arrested In San Mateo County

The Redwood City man was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary, vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City man was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary minutes after deputies received a report of a burglary underway in San Mateo County's North Fair Oaks neighborhood Saturday night, the sheriff's office said.

Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, San Mateo County Sheriff's Department got a report of a suspect in the process of burglarizing a vehicle in the 3100 block of Edison Avenue from an observant resident, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies who responded were told the suspect fled on foot toward Fifth Avenue, the sheriff's office said. The deputies found the suspect nearby.
