UPDATE: Streets Reopen After Water Main Break Near Hospital
Residents in the 900, 1000 and 1100 blocks of Marshall Street could have service disrupted during repairs, police said.

Update:
A water main break in Redwood City is affecting part of a nearby hospital, a city spokeswoman said this afternoon. The break, reported just after noon on Marshall Street between Walnut and Maple streets, has cut off water to the new wing of the Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center, according to city spokeswoman Meghan Horrigan.
Some other businesses in the area might also be experiencing low water flow or have no water because of the break, Horrigan said. Some water remains in the roadway this afternoon but Marshall Street has reopened to traffic after being closed earlier because of flooding.

Streets near a Redwood City hospital have reopened this afternoon but repairs to a water main there are expected to last into the evening, according to police. The break was reported just after noon on Marshall Street between Walnut and Maple streets, Redwood City police said.
Marshall Street was closed in the area because the street was partially flooded, affecting traffic to nearby Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, police said. Crews were hesitant to immediately shut down the 10-inch line because it could disrupt water service to a nearby dialysis center, city spokeswoman Meghan Horrigan said.
The hospital’s water service was not affected because it’s on a different line, Horrigan said. Residents in the 900, 1000 and 1100 blocks of Marshall Street could have service disrupted, police said. The area surrounding the broken water main remains blocked off and repairs could go on until 6 p.m., police said.
