UPDATED: Bus Fire Blocks Hwy 101 Near Menlo Park

Traffic was backed up Thursday night, and drivers were advised to find alternate routes.

UPDATE 11 P.M.:

All lanes have reopened on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Menlo Park after a fire involving a bus, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire, which appeared to involve a tour bus or similar vehicle, was reported at 6:10 p.m. just north of Willow Road.

Several lanes were closed during the incident, causing a major traffic backup in the area.

Several lanes on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Menlo Park are closed due to a fire involving a large bus, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire, which appears to involve a tour bus or similar vehicle, was reported at 6:10 p.m. just north of Willow Road. Several lanes are closed and traffic is heavily backed up in the area.

The CHP is advising drivers to take alternate routes.
