Downtown Redwood City Celebrates Annual Tree Lighting Saturday
Along with the tree lighting Saturday evening, the free event features a parade, snowmen-making and a carnival.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Santa’s sleigh is rolling into downtown Redwood City for the 14th Annual Hometown Holidays on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. The Redwood City Improvement Association, in partnership with Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services, is sponsoring the tree lighting which takes place at 5:45 p.m. on the corner of Broadway and Hamilton. The tree will dazzle and delight, shining bright throughout the downtown area during the holiday season.
This free, family-friendly event will be a magical day filled with many other activities, including a parade at 4:30 p.m., live entertainment, snowmen making in the snow lot, a carnival with rides and food vendors, art activities at the San Mateo County History Museum, a visit from Santa from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and a stop from CalTrain’s Holiday Train bringing holiday treats at 6:10 p.m.
