DUI 'Saturation Patrols' Planned in Redwood City, Woodside This Weekend
Law enforcement officers from several Peninsula agencies are helping with the operation.

REDWOOD CITY, CA – Police will be out in full force this weekend looking for signs of drivers who may be DUI, as special saturation patrols are launched on the Peninsula.
The saturation patrols are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Saturday and last through 2 a.m. Sunday, according to Burlingame Police Sgt. Jim Ford.
Though the focus will be in Redwood City and Woodside, deputies from the Burlingame PD, Redwood City PD, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, and Daly City PD’s DUI Enforcement Teams will all help out, Ford said.

"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily," Ford said in a news release. "When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes."
The operation is facilitated through the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff's Association, with funding made possible by state and federal grants.
