Duo Saves Man's Life In SMC Upon Finding Overturned Vehicle

The duo was being honored with a special award on Wednesday.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Two RediCoast vehicle operators were scheduled to be honored on Wednesday by San Mateo County Transit District officials for saving the life of an unconscious man who the pair found in an overturned car.

On July 31, RediCoast operators Hector Tagal and Jaime Gonzalez came across an overturned car on La Honda Road in the unincorporated community of La Honda in San Mateo County.

The operators had their dispatchers call 911 and then were able to get the man out of the car before paramedics arrived.

Tagal and Gonzalez were being honored at Wednesday's SamTrans board meeting.
