The Community you work/live in has begun a very special movement that we would like to share with you.
A short 3 years ago, Irene Reyna was a student at Taft Community School. She is now 14 years old, and a student at Kennedy Middle School in Redwood City. Unfortunately, shortly before Christmas 2010, Irene was diagnosed with Cancer (Ewing's Sarcoma).
She has begun her Chemotherapy regimen, and her family is in great need of making ends meet. In order to be present for Irene, mom has put her job on hold. This loss of income means that this family of five is solely relying on dad's income.

Any help that we can offer this family would be greatly appreciated. We will be having a walk-a-thon on Saturday, March 5th (8-1)in order to help raise funds for this family. A flyer is attached with more details. Please join us on the 5th or consider a donation of gift cards to local grocery stores such as Smart and Final Foods Co, and Target. Irene has another round of Chemotherapy that is beginning next week and she is in need of young teen magazines, word search magazines, art supplies and music-either CD's or an MP3 player to help her get through her treatments. You will be able to find a drop-off box at the Family Centers @ BOTH Taft Community School and Kennedy Middle School!
Our Community has a long history of coming together to create change. Please consider joining this effort in any capacity you can.
