Free Dyslexia Screening

Dyslexia affects about 20% of all children.  It is a spectrum disorder -- the degree to which a child may affected ranges from mild to profound. It often goes undiagnosed.

Children can be screened for dyslexia as young as 70 months (the month they turn 5), although screenings after 4 months of kindergarten, or the summer between kindergarten and first grade, are more accurate.

Because I believe so strongly in early identification and remediation, I have decided to offer  free dyslexia screenings through the month of July, 2011.

Dyslexia: Symptoms & Solutions

This video is 3 hours long -- you may watch it over several days.

Then, if you feel your child might be at risk for dyslexia, contact me for a short interview to determine if I am qualified to screen your child.  If I am not qualified, I will refer you to other practitioners, who may be able to evaluate your child for a fee.

The screening process consists of:

*two in-depth parent interviews (one by phone, one in person)
*a complete review of the child's records (school, progress report, and any prior testing)
*current schoolwork samples
*administration of up to 8 screening tools

The administration process itself will take about two hours of your child's time.  I will provide either an oral or written report to you.

The best way to contact me is via email: academic.remediation@gmail.com
