It's time to get moving towards zero carbon emissions and safer streets! Meet on the west side platform of the Redwood City Caltrain station (start of James near clock tower). Wear a yellow shirt or jacket if you can. Bicyclists and non-bicyclists welcome!
Enjoy a short tour of new bicycle-friendly improvements in Redwood City, such as the "road diet" with bike lanes at Brewster. Listen to an expert describe ways to get local governments moving on making cities better for bikes and people. For example, RWC is using its pavement budget (instead of waiting years for grants). Learn how the advocacy triangle (staff, city council, and community) can work for you.
Make arrow or sharrow signs for the Mega Moving Planet event in San Francisco in the afternoon. Decorate your bike or scooter. Join in some fun photo opportunities. Sign a letter or petition to support funding for bike friendly facilities on El Camino, Middlefield & other key bike routes. Learn what North Fair Oaks, RWC and the County have been working on to make streets better for bicyclists and pedestrians, and how you can participate.
