BREAKING: Police say it's connected to a firearms and criminal street gang case.

MENLO PARK, CA – Law enforcement officers from the Menlo Park Police Department, East Palo Alto Police Department and an FBI SWAT team converged on a Peninsula residence early Thursday morning, officials report.
Serving a search warrant as part of a firearms and gang investigation, officers arrived at 5 a.m. at the home in the 1300 block of Sevier Avenue, according to Menlo Park Police.
"Several residents inside the house were detained during the search, and all but one was later released," police said shortly before 10 a.m. "One subject is currently detained and being interviewed."

According to the agency, once police were inside the residence, they found numerous violations — enough that a city building inspector deemed the location uninhabitable and red-tagged it.
"While searching the residence, numerous code violations were located including converted living spaces, kitchens and bathrooms," police said. "Gas and electrical lines were also illegally modified and in an extremely unsafe condition."
