“The Food Wine & Heroes evening is a catalyst for the San Mateo County community of residents, businesses, public safety and SAL youth to come together and raise funds for one common goal. I look forward each year to volunteering for this event. Knowing we are connecting kids, who are not necessarily exposed to great opportunities, to deputies who become positive allies, mentors, coaches, friends is an amazing feeling. This event is a major fundraiser for SAL and is significant in reaching our most vulnerable youth at the most critical point in their life. I feel honored to be a part of that.” Dani Gasparini, SAL Volunteer.
