Former Silicon Valley Employee Pleads Guilty To Damaging Computers After Being Fired

The man could face 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A former employee of a Silicon Valley company has pleaded guilty to damaging his ex-employer's computers, United States Attorney Brian Stretch announced Wednesday.

Felton resident Kenneth Kezeor, 47, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to intentional transmission causing damage to a protected computer.

Prosecutors said Kezeor acknowledged he used his administrator accounts to intentionally cause damage to his former employer's application by transmitting information, codes and commands following his termination from the company in October in 2012.

Kezeor worked for the Santa Clara-based company Agilent Technologies and its predecessors since 1997.

He attempted to damage the application for four months following his termination, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors said he also admitted using the account of another employee to cause damage to the application.
Kezeor worked as a system administrator for a customer support application and had high-level access to the application and the associated database.

He is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 20, 2016. He faces a maximum term of 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
