Four People Held Up in Armed Robbery at Local Auto Shop

Two suspects robbed four people at an auto mechanic shop in unincorporated North Fair Oaks over the weekend, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Saturday to an armed robbery in progress in the 2900 block of Flood Avenue.

Sheriff’s officials said two suspects entered the shop and told everyone inside to get on the floor. The suspects then took each person’s belongings and fled on foot toward Dumbarton Avenue.

Deputies arrived about 30 seconds after being dispatched but were unable to locate the perpetrators, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials do not know whether both suspects were armed, but one reportedly carried a black semi-automatic handgun.

Both suspects were described as either Hispanic or light-skinned black men. One was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes and the other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and white tennis shoes, according to the sheriff’s office.
