Free Peninsula Program Provides Space, Advice for LGBTQ Community
Adolescent Counseling Services hosting free document drop-in clinic (breaking).

From Adolescent Counseling Services: Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) is hosting a free LGBTQ+ drop-in clinic for community members interested in getting resources and support about filling out and filing name and gender change documents. ACS's Outlet program has arranged for local consultants to explain how document processing works, and what individuals might need to successfully submit name change and gender change paperwork in their respective counties of residence.
Join ACS/Outlet staff, local professionals and fellow community members Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10 am to 2 pm at ACS administrative offices: 643 Bair Island Road, Suite 301, Redwood City, CA.
A lawyer will be available to answer any general questions, and to present the different types of legal documentation necessary for those identifying on the gender spectrum. Therapists will be on-hand for brief sessions for those needing to process their concerns or decide whether these types of documentary changes are appropriate for them at this time.

Outlet staff will be providing forms for those interested in completing them on-site, as well as directions on how to file these at appropriate county offices. Staff is working to compile a list of "buddies” who are willing to accompany someone who is anxious about going to different government offices alone.
This clinic is open to all adults, families, and youth interested. Individuals under the age of 18 require parent signatures on legal forms. There will be light refreshments available throughout the day.
